Ribbon: A term used in the industry describing the appearance of ribbon or stripes in the wood grain. Also, when you see the ribbon style grain, the blank is either rift, quarter sawn, or a combination due to the blanks width or size.
Important Note: Sapele, although beautiful, can be a bit on the heavy side. Many luthiers have gotten very creative and found a way to chamber or route cavities on the front or top side of the body blank and then glue a figured top over it, reducing the overall weight dramatically. We also have plenty of figured tops to choose from as well.
Photo and Listing: This listings photos are of the actual blank you will receive. Unlike many of our competitors, we photograph each individual item. Kimball Hardwoods does not alter, enhance, photoshop, or enhance with solvents unless otherwise stated with any of our products. When you receive your product, it will look exactly like it does in the photos.
